What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?
I worked 25 years in college athletics doing PR and media relations at the University of Kansas, Wake Forest and Georgia Tech.
Where did you grow up?
Just outside of Pinehurst, North Carolina.
Growing up, what did you want to be?
I wanted to be a professional baseball player or a sportswriter.
What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
Throw a pickleball to my dog, Wilma.
If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
Leslie Mann, because I have a dream that after meeting me she would dump her husband for me. LOL.
What is Atlanta’s best-kept secret?
The Battery is a great place to go even when it’s not baseball season.
What do you love most about the industry?
Most people will say it’s helping people — and of course that’s incredibly important — but there’s an aspect of competition that I really enjoy.
How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?
My background in college athletics gave me great experience in marketing, media relations, managing people and working long hours.
What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
When I get my 20th spam call or text of the day, it can be difficult to keep your sanity.
What’s your best advice for generating new leads?
I’m old school. Start conversations with strangers.
What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?
I am so late to the party, but Ted Lasso is so good.
What’s your favorite meal in Atlanta?

Homes in Inman Park and Virginia Highlands.
What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?
While showing houses I’ve seen naked people, squatters, been bitten by a dog and have set off numerous alarms.
What’s one thing people are surprised to learn about you?
That I haven’t turned on my oven or stove since Covid in 2020.
What is your favorite vacation spot and why?
Jekyll Island, Las Vegas and Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina.
