Amy French Residential Real Estate Agent

Ansley Real Estate, Buckhead office

What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?
I was a first-grade teacher.
Where did you grow up?
Snellville
Growing up, what did you want to be?
A pediatrician.
What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
I go walking with a friend.
If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
Dolly Parton — who doesn’t love Dolly?
What is Atlanta’s best-kept secret?
Being a native of the Atlanta area, there are many, but my favorite is exploring all the different hidden parks tucked in all of our historic neighborhoods.
What do you love most about the industry?
The people, hands down. Not only do I love meeting new people through client referrals, but I also value the critical agent relationships I’ve made. Some of my best friends are clients and agents in the industry.
How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?
Because of my teaching background, I am very thorough and have a keen ability to advise clearly and effectively throughout the transaction and beyond. I am both a go-getter but also warm and fuzzy when I need to be.
What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
Sometimes there are instances where, if you’re doing the job right, you don’t get to tell people what they want to hear. Communicating important and accurate information is a huge and sometimes difficult part of the job when you know it’s not the best news. To counter that, I always have a solution ready.
What’s your best advice for generating new leads?
Stay consistent in reaching out to your sphere of influence. You’re in sales, act like it!
What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?
I’m currently reading The 10X Rule by Grant Cardone.
What’s your favorite meal in Atlanta?
That’s a tough one because I married a foodie, so we are always trying new things. I would say the cajun chicken at Le Bilboquet or tacos at Taqueria del Sol.
Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta?
The Amtrak Station on Peachtree. It was designed by one of my favorite Atlanta architects, Neel Reid.
What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?
I showed a home where I opened the door to a room, and it was pitch black — I couldn’t see a thing — but I could hear a pretty ferocious sounding dog growling somewhere in the room. Needless to say, I exited pretty quickly.
What’s one thing people are surprised to learn about you?
I do not drink coffee.
What is your favorite vacation spot and why?
Bozeman, Montana, and Harbour Island in the Bahamas. Both are stunning and a great break from the hustle and bustle.
What is your favorite city after Atlanta?
Charleston, South Carolina
In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?
Be patient, put in the work, and find a good mentor.
What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app?
Docusign. It enables me to work from anywhere!
Who are your favorite people to follow on social media?
Keeping Current Matters, Tom Ferry, The Potted Boxwood, Megan Stokes… There are too many to count!
