Toro begins preleasing Prelude in the Medley mixed-use community in Johns Creek

by John Yellig

Preleasing is underway at Toro Development Company’s Prelude, the first phase of luxury multifamily residences to be developed at the developer’s Medley mixed-use community in Johns Creek.

Medley, which replaces the former State Farm Insurance office campus, is hosting a grand opening on Oct. 29; Prelude’s first move-ins will begin Nov. 1.

Prelude offers a collection of one- and two-bedroom apartments situated above Medley’s ground-floor retail and restaurants, pedestrian-friendly streets and public spaces.

All residences have smart-home technology, vinyl-plank flooring, stainless-steel appliances, floor-to-ceiling hardwood cabinetry, quartz countertops, French door refrigerators and in-unit washers and dryers. Gallery Residential is the property manager. Community amenities include a plunge pool and deck, fitness center, clubhouse, spa, coffee bar and property-wide 1 Gbps Wi-Fi.

“Prelude brings the energy and built-in ‘feet on the street’ that mixed-use destinations need to thrive,” Toro Development Founder and Chief Vision Officer Mark Toro said. “Those who choose to live here recognize the luxuries and conveniences of a turnkey, resort-inspired lifestyle with best-in-class retail, office and amenities at their doorstep. Having a critical mass of people living on property allows us to create an exceptional Main Street experience at Medley and deliver a meaningful Third Place for the community.”

Medley is located at the intersection of Johns Creek Parkway and McGinnis Ferry Road. When completed, it will offer 145,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, including Trader Joe’s, which is already open; 881 townhomes and apartments; a 150-key boutique hotel; 110,000 square feet of office space; and a 25,000-square-foot plaza that will host up to 200 events per year.

Besides Prelude, Toro is developing Overlook, a 301-unit multifamily community within the Cumming City Center mixed-use development. Overlook’s first apartments are slated to open in 2027.
