Agent Snapshot: Mary Stuart Iverson, Realtor, Harry Norman, Realtors, Buckhead

84ffa0d82d7f68d076626aed2ac632f1What was your first job in the realty industry? I have always been an independent agent from day one and never looked back!

Where did you grow up? Call me boring, but Atlanta has always been my home. I live in Buckhead, about a mile from my childhood home.

Growing up, what did you want to be? Anything but a Realtor! My mom and aunt were in the business and I was always having to answer the phone for them and babysit their clients’ kids.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? Play with my three boys and get exercise

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Martin Luther King, Jr. He was a man of incredible strength in Atlanta when there were trying times. We still have a lot of issues to resolve here, and his leadership and experience would be invaluable.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? Monday Night Brewing Company on the West Side. They have a great patio and delicious local craft beer.

What do you love most about the industry? Getting to welcome people to Atlanta and help them make it feel like a small town

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I focus on a very small area, which allows me to be a resident expert. Thankfully my business comes from personal referrals, so I consider all of my clients friends.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Setting boundaries!

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? Everywhere I go I try to be kind and helpful to others, which always pays off. You never know where you are going to meet a client.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? Raising young children while balancing a full-time career

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? I am in the middle of reading “All the Light We Cannot See,” which is an incredible novel following two children in WWII.

What is your favorite restaurant? Georgia Grille by Karen Hilliard. They have the best Anaheim peppers!

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta? Anything pre-1930 makes me giddy! The Hurst Building and the Flatiron Building.

What kind of car do you drive? A Toyota Avalon

Smartphone or paper? Smartphone

What is your favorite city after Atlanta? West Palm Beach

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Work hard and never take things personally.

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? iPhone all the way!

Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter? I don’t have time for Twitter 🙂
