HomeAid Atlanta volunteers from the real estate community packed hundreds of CareKits for local homeless residents and provided needed maintenance work at area homeless facilities last month.

The master-planned community will be known as Oak Hill Reserve and is slated to open in spring 2023.

The garden-apartment project sits on more than 23 acres adjacent to Sugar Hill’s new master-planned downtown. 

The recipient, Jennifer Barnes, founded the nonprofit Solidarity Sandy Springs during the first year of the COVID pandemic. 

The properties, which were purchased for an undisclosed amount, total 1,080 apartment units. 

The 40-unit garden-apartment community opened in 1962 and is located at 3518 Roswell Road.

The publication cited Atlanta’s rich cultural amenities, booming economy and diversity. 

The properties are Park Estates, a 138-unit community of two-bedroom, 1,050-square-foot apartments and Austin Estates, a 118-unit complex.
