Homebuilders purchased the construction-ready subdivisions with plans to put up 775 badly needed new homes in Dekalb and Gwinnett counties. 

The Skyline Apartments community is part of a larger, multi-phase public-private partnership in the Peoplestown area that will ultimately bring 1.8 million square feet of development. 

The 280-unit garden-style multifamily development was acquired for an undisclosed amount by Coral Gables, Fla.-based Beacon Real Estate Group. 

McKinley Homes is boosting its efforts to sell homes at the 22-story condo tower at 788 West Marietta St. 

The acquisition represents the Los Angeles-based investor’s entry into the Atlanta market. 

The 100%-affordable development will be known as Madison Reynoldstown and comprise two midrise buildings on a 1.2-acre parcel on the corner of Memorial Drive and Chester Avenue. 

Plans for the downtown development call for 320 residences, 85% of which will be designated affordable, plus new space for the church’s Atlanta First Day School, a new fellowship hall and street-level retail. 

Infinity Real Estate Advisors LLC used two loans aggregating $60 million to make the acquisitions. 

The property was one of five Southeast multifamily developments recently sold by Asia Capital Real Estate for an undisclosed amount. 

The decade-long plan calls for the construction of dozens of new townhomes and almost 1,000 apartments, as well as hundreds of thousands of square feet of retail and office space and a 150-room hotel.

The homebuilder has purchased the remaining lots in the Cobb County community and will open sales to some sites on April 30. 

Located at 501 North River Parkway, the Carlyle of Sandy Springs is “primed for an interior value-add program,” said Cushman & Wakefield, which helped broker the sale.

At least six large developments representing more than 1,300 new for-sale and rental homes have been proposed recently. 

The property was built in 1977 and purchased by the seller, Clark Ventures, in 2015.

The two-story townhomes are available in three floor plans and are priced from the mid-$400,000s. 

The properties aggregate 584 units and are located in Dallas, Hiram and Cumming.
