Agent Snapshot: Rachel Brochstein, Realtor, Harry Norman, REALTORS, Buckhead

What was your first job in the realty industry? I was a pre-closer at a closing attorney’s office for four years before switching over to the REALTOR side.

Where did you grow up? In the Buckhead/Mt. Paran area

Growing up, what did you want to be? A chef, or the president of the United States; I wanted to keep my options open.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? Read, cook, or play volleyball

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Louis Armstrong. I always admired the creativity and inventiveness of his music and would love to hear him speak about his career and passion.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? Piedmont Park, or any live music venue

What do you love most about the industry? The constant changes we face and the opportunities to always meet new people.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I pride myself on always providing exceptional service in whatever I am doing. I know the industry and will help my clients navigate the process to their highest benefit.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Waiting; I like to get things done and having to wait on another entity can be the most stressful thing to me.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? It depends on the week! I love volunteering as well as getting involved with local groups like the Georgia Trust and Community Bucket. You never know who you will meet!

What has been your greatest accomplishment? Surviving my twenties

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? “The Girl With All the Gifts” by Mike Carey

What is your favorite restaurant? It was Alfredo’s, but sadly that is no more. Right now I would say it’s between Bistro Niko or La Tavola

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta? The FlatIron Building or the Fox Theater

What kind of car do you drive? A Mazda 3

Smartphone or paper? Both

What is your favorite city after Atlanta? Washington D.C. in the States, and Dublin for places I have been outside the U.S.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Find great contacts in your industry who you can count on!

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? The Supra EKey or the Harry Norman App

Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter? Comedians – I don’t want to be on Twitter for anything other than to laugh.
